Since ditching bottles and eating exactly what we eat, life has gotten so much easier! We’re lucky that B does have quite the appetite, but she also gets hangry. The girl does not like to be hungry for a minute. Now that she is not only walking, but running, she’s not afraid to bring me the entire gallon box of goldfish.
If she can get a whole box of goldfish, why not give her access to the other snacks she wants? Enter, the snack station!
Sign language has given us a great way to communicate. But now, she can just get the snacks she is feeling! So here’s why you need a snack station and drink fridge in your own house:
1. Hello, fully stocked snacks and drinks
Maybe you’re better about this than I am, but if there is still a box in the pantry, in my mind, we still have the food. With our snack station, I can always tell exactly what snacks we are out of, and if I’m putting enough healthy options out for B.
Also, as a fun PSA, I’ve been using Boxed because I’m having issues with picking up my orders from Sams club. Anything to save me from one more errand.
2. Frees up valuable fridge real estate
Our fridge (and pantry) gets crowded. And at the rate my husband goes through Dr. Pepper and water, I needed some room back! This drink fridge has been the perfect solution. I can just load a case of whatever we’re drinking at the time and keep my fridge for real food!
And I haven’t even filled it with wine. Jordan’s Dr. Pepper need is way stronger than my love of the occasional glass of wine.
3. Pinterest-worthy coffee bar
I’ve always wanted a quaint Pinterest-worthy coffee bar with my cool Ninja coffee maker. Now I have it! It has taken me forever to finally get this awesome three-tiered display done, but now I love it so! I keep saying I’m going to get fancy with my coffee, but for now, just add a little creamer and I’m one happy girl.
4. Easy afternoon project
Not very handy? This is the project for you. We took two unfinished cabinets, measured for the fridge in between, plywood over the top, and then put stained 2X4s over the top. I still just LOVE how it turned out.
My mom and I actually knocked it out by ourselves while the guys were hunting a few Thanksgivings ago. So you can totally do this for yourselves!
5. Central location for everything
I love knowing that this is where B can set her projects or homework, or I can leave her a note later on. The snack station will get a lot of traffic. I’m always looking for ways to show her that I love her, and in my eyes, food is love. I can always remember my mom getting snacks we loved and it is where we headed right after school. I’m looking forward to creating the same memories!
